Caramelized Onion and Mushroom Burgers

Happy Friday!  I'm glad the weather cleared up because we had grilled burgers on the menu tonight.  I think the key to these burgers is quality meat.  It really makes a difference.  We buy our grass fed hamburger meat from HEB.

Caramelized Onion and Mushroom Burgers

1 pound of grass fed hamburger
1/2 onion
small package of sliced mushrooms
4 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Heat olive oil in pan
Mince the onion, and garlic and add to the pan
Cook the onion and garlic until translucent
Add the mushrooms and balsamic vinegar
Add pepper to taste
Cook until mushrooms are tender-stirring occasionally
Add the mushroom mix and hamburger meat to a bowl
Add salt to taste
Mix until hamburger meat and mushroom mixture are combined evenly
Form hamburgers (makes 6 burgers)
Grill for 5-6 minutes on each side

Serve with grilled peppers and spinach.  We ate our burgers with Paleo bread as our "bun."  You could also leave the bun off and top with a fried egg.  YUM!!
